2010 Events at Wildside Activity Centre


Sunday 27th June Wildlife Narrowboat Trip 10.30am - 1.30pm
Return trip to Wightwick taking in the geography and wildlife of the area. (Places limited - please book in advance).

Monday 26th July Bat Discovery Evening 8.15pm - late.
Find out about bats from Simon Phipps, followed by some outdoor bat detection. (Places limited - please book in advance).

Monday 9th August A Year in the Life of a Pond
7pm - 9pm
Illustrated talk by Paul Wilkinson on wildlife that depends on the pond throughout the year, particularly Great Crested Newts, amphibians, reptiles, bats and bugs. (Places limited - please book in advance).

Sunday 17th October Fungi Foray 10am - 12noon.
Visit Hawthorne Wood to search for and identify mushrooms and toadstools, with Sue Shanks.

Sunday 31st October Creature Comforts 11am - 3pm
Make wildlife-friendly homes and feeders for your garden. Possibilities include toad abodes, insect inns, bird/bat boxes etc. with help and advice from the Wildside Volunteers.
