Minibeast Safari


This science session will give the children the opportunity to explore the varied habitats around Wildside Activity Centre and through their investigations, determine which species may be present and which factors affect the appearance and quality of the many fascinating habitats.

During the session the group will:

* Consider health and safety issues at the Centre and in the surrounding area
* Make predictions about habitats
* Explore the different habitats available around the Centre
* Use simple scientific equipment to collect, collate and assess data
* Record findings and draw conclusions from their investigations
* Produce some creative work based on their observations

Times & cost

What do we need to bring ?
You will need to bring clothing suitable for outdoor activities with waterproofs if rain looks likely. We do have a small selection of waterproofs and boots if necessary. For full day activities a packed lunch will be required. Remember sun cream for those odd sunny days!

The session links closely to several aspects of the National Curriculum, particularly 'Science - Life Processes' and 'Living Things' Key Stage 1 and 2.
