Problem Solving and Team Building
Available Activities
We are continually developing new challenges,
Here are some of the old favourites that have proved very popular with groups.
Spiders Web
Your team have been captured by a mad scientist who has shrunk all of them
to one thousandth of their normal size. After escaping you find your way to
a resizing machine blocked by a giant spiders web. How do you all get through?

The River Crossing
Whilst traveling through a tropical jungle your team have found the elixir
of life. Unfortunately your way back to civilisation is blocked by a highly
toxic river. How do you get across?
The Brain Drain
Another mad scientist has hidden an earth saving piece of computer equipment,
sealed inside a ping pong ball, inside a redundant atomic storage cylinder.
This is surrounded by a radioactive vaporising lake which destroys everything
it touches. Your task is to recover the computer equipment.
Lava Flow
A Volcano that has just erupted has left a river of molten lava blocking your
teams only escape route to safety. Using only the special equipment supplied
you have to cross the flow to escape.
Nuclear Meltdown
As a nuclear safety team your task is to remove the core of a reactor that
has started to meltdown. Unfortunately some meltdown contamination has occurred
which means that access to the core is strictly limited. How do you deal with
the situation?
Times & cost
What do you need to bring ?
You will need to bring clothing suitable for outdoor activities (by this we
mean trainers or boots and not jeans) with waterproofs if rain looks likely.
We do have a small selection of waterproofs and boots if necessary. For full
day activities a packed lunch will be required. Remember sun cream for those
odd sunny days!
Curriculum links
These activities comply with the National Curriculum Physical Education at
Key Stages 2,3 and 4.
The principal links are:
(1) performance of outdoor activities in a different environment.
(2) being physically active.
(3) challenges of a physical and problem solving nature.
We can also extend these links by encouraging team members
to plan challenges for other participants.
