February Half–Term Programme 2019

The Beyondness of Bees – a stitch workshop
10am to 12.30pm

Part of our exciting art project, using microscopes to look at bees in a whole new way, you will be able to produce your own art piece using fabric and stitch.

These individual pieces will contribute to a collective exhibition in the spring. Suitable for adults and for children aged 8 and over. £4 per participant.

 

Going on a Bear Hunt
10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm

A story trail re-telling a popular family tale.
Suitable for younger children including under 3s. £4 per child.

Open family cycle ride
10.00am – 12 noon

Bring your own bike, water and snack. A free safety check is available before the ride towards Wombourne on flat towpaths and cycle ways. Maximum 1.5 hours ride with a stop for refreshments. Children should normally be over 10 and accompanied by an adult. Children of 8 and over may come if they are good riders and bring their own bikes. Bikes and helmets available for loan – please ask when booking. £4 per person.

Trees and who lives in them
10.30am – 12.30pm

Plant your very own tree so you can watch it grow. And we’ll find out how each tree provides high rise living for a whole community of critters. Suitable for children 4 years old and over. £4 per child.

Den building
10.30am – 12.30pm

Make a shelter in the woods for yourself and learn about how animals shelter in the winter. If the weather is really bad, we’ll make some shelters for bugs and hedgehogs indoors. Suitable for children 4 years old and over. £4 per child.

Cooking with fruit
1.30pm – 3.30pm

We’ll be using fruit to cook some easy scrumptious treats.
Children should be aged 5 or over. 
£4 per child.

Make your own bird box
10.30am – 12.30pm

The birds are thinking about nesting now and looking around for promising places. Don’t disappoint them, have a bird box ready in your garden.
Suitable for children aged 7 and above. £4 per child or £6 if you wish to take the box home.

Puppet making
10.30am – 12.30pm

Using things we would often throw away or re-cycle, we’ll be making some animal puppets and creating a story for them together. You can take your puppet home. Suitable for children 5 and over. £4 per child.
