About the event

Land of Hope & Glory composer Edward Elgar's friendship with Dora Penny, and the sea of Wolves fans passing her house on the way to Molineux, inspired him to write some iconic music, including the Enigma Variations and what is believed to be the first ever football chant. He also liked to hide coded messages within his music.

Join local historian David Guest to learn more about one of Britain's most famous composers, his love of Wolverhampton Wanderers, and about his great friend Dora, a female trailblazer in a male-dominated society.
