About the event
You may be aware that Wolverhampton has a long history of lock-making, with famous companies like Chubb being based here, but did you know that the city also has a long history of gun lock making?
Skilled workers migrated here from France in the 18th Century and soon made their names as producers of quality gun locks.
With the aid of examples of the equipment used, local historian and author Mark Cooper explores Wolverhampton’s history, with a focus on the city’s association with lock making.
His new book on the subject will also be available for sale on the night - direct from the author!
The talk is suitable for adults and older children.
