Big Give update

Now that #GreenMatchFund is over for another year it gives us an opportunity to reflect on the success of the week.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone who made a donation. Thanks to your generosity we exceeded our original target and ended with donations totalling over £6,000. With match funding and gift aid that gives us more than £10,000 to spend on our environmental education and community activity project 'Sustainability Champions'.

The success of the initiative doesn't stop there as it wasn't just funds that were raised. The programme for the week also raised spirits and our profile. It was inspiring to see everyone pulling together to make things work. So in addition to those who donated a huge thanks must also go to everyone for the role they played whether it was organising an event, facilitating a workshop, participating in a sponsored activity, writing a poem, buying a raffle ticket, pulling a boat, decorating a wolf, making a contribution in kind, giving up time or any of the many other very valuable contributions. It really was a team effort.

Even our youngest participants, Little Explorers got in on the act. Their sponsored challenge raised over £350.

The additional profile that the week gave us was reflected by the fact that we had more individual donors than ever before.
