Business Development Manager
Do you have the skills to be a key contributor to building the future sustainability of a small environmental charity in Wolverhampton? Are you able to lead a skilled team committed to reconnecting people of all ages and abilities with the natural world?
Wildside Activity Centre is offering a unique opportunity for a Business Development Manager to drive the programme forward and identify new sources of income generation. We are clear about the benefits of what we offer to our users and are driven to maintain and increase our provision. The post is a permanent one, for 29.6 hours per week, funded for approximately the first five years by the National Lottery. You will:
Create new relationships with local businesses for sponsorship, fund raising and increased take up for employee volunteering, environmental activities and our narrowboat.
Develop new links with health related providers and commissioners in order to reach new user groups.
Develop further innovative routes and partnerships for programming and income generation.
Supervise and support staff and volunteers in operational management and delivery of the programme, including the National Lottery funded activities for people with additional needs.
About you
With the positive and crucial impact that this role will have, we are looking for someone currently or recently working at senior level, in the corporate or public sector or a charity, with a strong track record of developing business and engagement strategies across diverse communities.
It is essential that you can demonstrate the experience and skills listed below:
Business planning, project management, marketing and developing income streams, contracts and partnerships.
Strong interpersonal and people skills with successful management of teams.
Good standards of educational achievement, attention to detail, with IT competency and excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Warmth, energy, reliability and friendliness.
Commitment to the ethos and aims of Wildside, particularly in understanding the benefits of getting outdoors and contact with nature.
Ideally, you will also have a good understanding of the charity sector and how a small charity operates.
