We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an Employment Support Worker for a new project which aims to increase the number of unemployed people gaining skills and experience through volunteering at Wildside, especially on outdoor conservation work. The evidence of effectiveness of the project and of positive outcomes for participants will be monitored as part of the project, which is supported by the John Lewis Community Investment Fund.
The post holder will be responsible for managing/coordinating the delivery phase, managing its budget, monitoring outcomes as well as face to face support to the project users. Close liaison will be required with Wildside staff and volunteers, and unemployment advisers and mentors. Good organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills are essential together with outreach skills and an ability to relate well to a wide range of people. An understanding is required of the issues faced by the long-term unemployed, both young people and adults. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
