On Saturday 19th October from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm, we have another Dr Bike session. We have a lot of demand for these sessions that help with minor repairs. So drop in with your bike and get it fixed. It’s a free session but you will need to pay for any necessary parts. We also have a few child and adult bikes for sale.

Our popular group for pre-school children offers them the chance to get more confident in outdoor play, with a Forest School approach. Children, parents and carers love it. These Monday sessions are offered in term time either from 9.30 to 11am or 1 to 2.30pm. The first session of the autumn term is on Monday 16th September. Cost £3 per session per child. Please ring us if you would like to bring your child.

October half-term

We shall be running activities and boat trips at half-term between 28th October and 2nd November. The programme is now available. Bookings are confirmed when a booking form has been completed and the payment has been made. Please ring 01902 572240.

Bird Watching Walk – Birds of the canal corridor

We will not be offering a bird watching series in the autumn this year. We have one special walk programmed on Tuesday October 1st from 10 am to 12 noon with refreshments at the Centre afterwards. We will be looking out for water birds and others that make the waterway their home. Cost £3 per head. Places limited, please ring to book.

This monthly group is for children age 5-11 who are interested in everything about nature. It’s great fun with games and quizzes and getting outside exploring. The group starts again on Sunday 13 October from 10 am to 12 noon. £3 per child. Please ring to tell us if a new child wants to join.

Wolverhampton Literary Festival

We are working with the Literary Festival to offer a boat trip with performance poet Emma Purshouse on Saturday 12th October from 11am to 3pm. See the Smestow Valley in autumn and write your own poems. Cost £12 per person plus booking fee. Age 14 plus. Light refreshments available but guests need to bring a picnic lunch. Apple Day – 26th October

Join us at Wildside as we celebrate ‘Apple Day’ on Saturday 26th October from 11am – 1pm. Bring along your apples and help us turn them into apple juice for everyone to sample. There will be apple related games and crafts and refreshments too. We’re hoping to be joined by some special guests – so keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small fast-developing charity in a critically important role. We would especially welcome to the Board people who share the ethos of the Centre and have experience and skills in the private sector, in finance, marketing or social media.
