Santa Boat Trips 2018
Once again, we can offer our popular Santa Trips. Santa has lost the key to his trunk over our canal. Go out on the boat to find the key and return to meet Santa and open the trunk of presents back at the Centre. £10 for a child, £6 for an adult. A present for every child. Tea, coffee and mince pies included. Booking essential.
This exciting arts project uses microscopes to look at bees in a new way. You will be able to see the tiny hairs that carry pollen grains, or the incredible beauty of the wings. You can then create your own pictures through drawing, painting and stitch. Do try to attend both the drawing and the stitch workshops. The individual art pieces will be combined for a public exhibition to draw attention to the wonder of bees. Suitable for adults and children (age 8 and over). £4 per person. Microscope drawing workshop – Sunday 20th January, 10.00 to 12.00. Stitch workshop – Sunday 27th January, 10.00 to 12.30.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small fast-developing charity in a critically important role. We need Board members who will share our ethos and help us to continue to grow our programmes. We would especially welcome to the Board people who share the ethos of the Centre and have experience and skills in the private sector, in finance, marketing or social media.
If you are interested in membership of the Board, please contact Liz Hoggarth on 01902 572240 for a full information pack, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Liz on the number above. There is no closing date and applications are welcome at any time.
Our very popular group for pre-school children offers them the chance to get more confident in outdoor play. The leader is fully trained in the Forest School approach. Children, parents and carers love it. These Monday sessions are offered either from 9.30 to 11am or 1 to 2.30pm. Cost £3 per session per child. Please ring us if you would like to bring your child. The group re-starts after half term on Monday 5th November.
We were one of the regional winners for the People’s Projects on ITV. Our project Wellbeing at Wildside has been well used over the summer. It aims to help people with disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health issues and other long-term health needs to come to Wildside for activity sessions or boat trips. Activities will be available through the autumn and winter months – for example, we could run a birdwatching session or Christmas crafts – most of our usual menu in fact.
We would particularly like to hear from groups which have not used the Centre before. Please ring us if you would like to discuss booking a session either at Wildside or at your own venue.
We also have an open group running on Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm. If you have a health issue or disability, come along to enjoy friendly company and some nature related activities and crafts.
This Group is for children age 5-11 who are interested in wildlife. It normally meets in term time on the second Sunday of the month from 10am to 12 noon. The group meets on Sunday November 11th and Sunday December 9th. Just call us if your child would like to join.
Another series of our popular birdwatching walks starts on 3rd October on Wednesdays from 10am to 12 noon. Cost £3 per session. Ring us to book and get details of dates and venues.
